When I was a boy, I can still recall the smell of my grandfather as he sat me on his lap while we
watched TV together.
Later, I realized my dad carried the same Old Spice fragrance. As a young man, when deciding
which aftershave to purchase, I recognized the scent. In that moment, a rush of warm, safe
memories came over me.
I picked up my first of many bottles of the fragrance, and just recently, I discovered that my son
had done the same thing 30 years later.
It’s true, anything that reminds you of something special from the past is powerful. Likewise, so
is the “reminder” on the back of the label.
